Textured plaster

You can wash textured plasters using domestic detergents and not be afraid they will lose an attractive look.

Nacre coatings

It is not difficult to guess, that nacre coatings must correspond to their names due to the nacre, contained in them. They are remarkable in their gloss and play of light. Nacre coatings create an imponderable surface, which can resemble cloth, sandy dunes, or rainy or marine sceneries. We refer to such coatings:

However, the nacre coatings are considered to be thin-layered coatings, not all of them create an ideal smooth surface. Some of the coatings create a rough surface, due to the quartz filler or a design.

Nacre coatings are quite resistant to moisture and need no additional protection, like finishing with a protective wax, because it spoils the picture's attractiveness and the play of light will disappear. Clean them very carefully with a wet sponge without detergents. 

Venetian plaster

Venetian plaster allows imitating marble, the surface of a cut stone, cracks, veins and waves. It is characterized by a glossy effect. Maxima Decor offers one kind of Venetian plaster named Stucco Veneziano.

Stucco Veneziano is a tender coating and requires additional protection and gloss. We recommend using for this purpose a special wax - Cera Lavabile. When the wax is completely dry you can wap it with a wet napkin, cloth or sponge. Do not use brushes and hard sponges. For substantial contaminations use soaped water (light concentrated solution).

Venetian plaster is a sophisticated coating but not practical.

A backsplash is an accessible place for grease and various contaminations. This area demands cleaning, often because it is an integral part of a working surface. That is why no matter what coating you choose for the backsplash, it demands additional protection. We recommend you have a look at a two-component varnish because it blocks penetration of various contaminations into the surface of the wall.

We shall admit, that textured plasters are not suitable for the backsplash, because the process of cleaning grease and contaminations from their surface will is complicated. A more practical option is a coating with a smooth surface.

Decorative stone-like coating on the backsplash

A stone-like coating adds a natural look and diversity to the design. There is a great number of options to imitate stone, which can differ in color, texture and shades. You can choose the one, which is the best suitable to the style of your kitchen.
