Applying pearly coatings doesn't require special skills, abilities or tools. Besides, pearly coatings contain sparkling particles and this play of gloss makes you sure that nothing can go wrong because every pattern will look unique. Here are several ways how to apply the decorative coating on your own. 

The easiest option to apply the coating is with a wide brush. Apply coating with circle moves. Even in a small area you can catch the pattern. Thus, the whole surface of the wall is decorated following the same technique of applying. This option suits applying all kinds of pearly coatings, but the most winning it works with coatings DUNA and GALAXY.

A roller is the most affordable way to create a texture. Apply the base coat with a roller and a trowel. Before the coating gets dry, start forming the structure. You need just move the roller along the surface. The main thing is to move the roller in the same direction and press it with the same strength, so the parts on the surface look identical. In the case of some of the parts look unattractive, you can smooth it with a trowel and repeat the procedure with the roller. You can apply ARABESK and OTTOCENTO in this way. 

A trowel and a spatula are the most professional way of applying for ARABESK and OTTOCENTO. Put some coating on the trowel with a spatula and apply it with straight and long movements as the first coat of the product. We recommend applying the coating in a way that every next movement of the trowel with the coating shall be applied on the previous one. After the first coat gets dry, you can create various effects.

1. Learn carefully the manual. Try to follow the directions stated on the label and have a look at the information on the website.
2. We would recommend you try applying the decorative coating on a small area to understand the specifics of the work with the product. 3. Remember, that the surface shall be prepared before applying the decorative coating. Thoroughly clean the walls from old coatings, wallpaper, dust and contaminations. If you plastered some areas of the surface or the whole surface, wait till the plaster gets dry and only then start decorating.
4. Remember about the floor. Use a film or other materials to cover the floor. It will make the cleaning easier.
5. Use masking tape to protect those parts, which you don't plan to coat with a decorative coating, for example, floor skirting, decorative panels and others.

8. Use quartz primer before applying decorative plasters. Quartz primer creates a hard layer on such surfaces as concrete, plaster, stucco, gypsum and alike. It also provides advanced adhesion and fills in small defects and cracks on the surface. It makes the application and texturing of decorative products easier.
