What is MARMORINO
MARMORINO is a decorative relief plaster, which is fully ready to use. It is intended for finishing walls and other interior surfaces in various premises. It contains acrylic polymer, water, fillers and various additives.
MARMORINO is a term, which comes from the Italian word "marmoreo" and means "marble". However modern relief plaster MARMORINO helps to create various effects of sliced stone at the same time wins not only in the price for finishing but also in simplicity. Natural marble is expensive and difficult to settle and combine in a harmonic picture. At the same time, decorative plaster combines style, chic and elegance together with affordability.
The Italian term "marmoreo" refers also to the product, named Venetian plaster. But MARMORINO has its peculiarities and differences from more traditional Venetian plaster. The main nuance is that it has not so a smooth surface of the finished coating (Venetian plaster can be glossy or semi-glossy but always smooth). MARMORINO creates a lightly textured coat, which is possible to create by the material itself and also by the way of application.
With plaster MARMORINO it is possible to imitate natural coating with a polished glossy or matt texture: marble-like, travertine or create various relief textures. The classic way of application for MARMORINO is "a map of the world".
Advantages and disadvantages of decorative plaster MARMORINO
Advantages of decorative plaster MARMORINO:
- esthetic attractiveness;
- good adhesion;
- the hardness of the completed coating;
- vapor permeability;
- it hides small defects of the surface;
- wide sphere of application;
- a long period of exploitation;
- ability to change colors by adding pigments to MARMORINO or wax;
- the seamless surface of the coating
Disadvantages of decorative plaster MARMORINO:
- quite a high price for products. The plaster MARMORINO and protective wax;
- a high price for applicating works.
But we shall admit that the price for the decorative coating is less than for matching and mantling with natural stones.
Sphere of application of decorative relief plaster MARMORINO
Relief plaster MARMORINO is intended entirely for interior works. The sphere of application of this plaster is rather wide: a corridor, a hall, a kitchen, a bedroom, a baby room and a bathroom. MARMORINO is also used for the interior of offices, conference halls, stores, restaurants, banks and other premises with high exploitation load.
Plaster MARMORINO corresponds well to classic and modern interior styles. If you want to finish the room in a classic style, the plaster will be the perfect addition for the creation of decorative antique frescas, which intensify the effect of the completed coating. If you prefer modern trends, you will be impressed by MARMORINO surfaces with colors of concrete in cases with minimalism or loft and in white colors if it will be modern or hi-tech.

Tinting of decorative relief plaster MARMORINO
You have two options to change the shade of a decorative plaster:
- Add a pigment concentrate to MARMORINO. The more concentrate you add to relief plaster MARMORINO, the richer becomes the color, however, we don't recommend you add more than 10% of pigment concentrate to avoid loss of some properties of MARMORINO.
- Change the color of the wax. The wax is easy to color manually with a pigment concentrate Farbex Color and other water-based pastes for tinting or with a tinting machine, Decorative wax CERA allows to add of the plaster extra decorative effect, protection against damage and moisture effect.

"Map of the world" as a way of application of decorative relief plaster MARMORINO
1. Stabilisation of a bace surface.
MARMORINO is a hard plaster but it wouldn't stick to a weak base surface. Every part of the surface, which is moving if touched or struck with a working tool piece shall be removed:
- if the surface was not previously coated, you shall clean it from fragile parts of the surface, dust, oil, grease and other contaminations to the hard base surface.
- if the surface was previously coated, you shall thoroughly clean the surface from old loose coatings (loose coats of paint or varnish) in a mechanical (with a scratcher, and a wire brush), thermal (with a hot air fan, infrared radiation) or chemical (treatments for paint removal) ways. Chalk and lime-chalk coatings shall be removed in a mechanical way till the base surface becomes hard. Clean the surface from various contaminations as well.
2. Prepare the surface.
The surface shall be even, dry and clean from the dust in prior. Then treat the surface with AQUA PRIMER (primer-concentrate 1:10). After it gets dry (less than 2 hours) apply an adhesive primer with quartz filler (QUARTZ PRIMER). Use a roller with a medium nap. The drying period is 24 hours.
The main aims of undercoating are to harden the base surface and increase adhesion to the surface.
3. The first coat of decorative relief plaster.
Apply MARMORINO on small areas of the surface with a metal trowel or spatula. Right after application form desired texture with a roller with a short nap.
If you want to form a more homogeneous texture of the first coat, you may not use the roller. In this case, it is enough to smooth the surface with a trowel.
Leave it drying for 24 hours.
4. The second coat of decorative relief plaster.
Put some MARMORINO on a trowel. Apply it on the surface in a chaotic way taking off the trowel from the surface. Form a desired pattern in the form of "isles".
Leave it for 30-40 minutes until MARMORINO sticks a little.
Flatten the "isles" carefully.
Leave it drying for 24 hours.
5. Applying the wax.
Change the color of the wax with a pigment concentrate Farbex Color before applying.
Apply the wax in 1 coat with a finishing brush, a brush with an artificial nap or a universal sponge.
A decorative wax Cera is applied in 1 coat, however, you may apply 2 coats if you wish or if you want for example to make the color richer.
As you see in the photo, the color saturation of the finished coating depends on the number of layers.
