The surface shall be thoroughly prepared for DUNA: clean the surface from old paint coatings, fill in the cracks, remove protrusions and flatten the surface. This step requires being attentive and finding all defects on the surface because the coating with sand wouldn't hide them.
Walls shall be undercoated with universal deep penetrating primer (primer-concentrate 1:10 Aqua primer TM Maxima). It hardens the surface and improves adhesion. After drying (less than 2 hours) apply the base coating, which is QUARTZ PRIMER (adhesive primer with quartz extender) for adhesion, making application easier and structuring of a decorative coating. Use a velvet roller for this purpose.
Start applying DUNA after complete drying of the adhesive primer in 24 hours. The coating with quartz sand is tinted with pigment concentrates.
Use a brush or a distemper brush to spread the coating on the surface with a thin even layer. If the area is large split the wall into sectors of 1-2 sq. m in size with rugged edges. The strokes could be applied in a chaotic or a single-direction way. The main thing is that the pattern would be the same on the whole area. You shall join the areas "on wet", in other words, you shall not wait till the previous coat of DUNA gets dry.
You can start forming the structure in 5-7 minutes after applying. Form the texture on coated surface with a distemper brush. The decorative coating dries in 24 hours. It's done! DUNA achieves complete hardness in 28 days.
You can exploit the surface without restrictions and if you have done everything correctly the coating will serve you in a perfect way for years.
Tinting
DUNA is easy to tint, add the necessary tone and color. We recommend coloring the coating with sand manually with pigment concentrate "Farbex Color". You can do it in domestic conditions. It is necessary to mix thoroughly the decorative coating with a pigment till homogeneous condition. The more color you add to DUNA, the richer color you receive, although we recommend adding no more than 10% of the pigment concentrate of the total weight of the product, otherwise, the properties of the coating with sand can be lost.
It is recommended to use the product of one batch to avoid deviations in shades of color. If you use coating with sand from various batches, you should better mix them together.
Some technical data for the product can be slightly changed after tinting.
