Wax for Venetian plaster

Wax is the ideal option as a finishing coat for Venetian plaster and no other coatings. 
CERA LAVABILE is a specially developed wax for plaster STUCCO VENEZIANO, which contains in its formula wax emulsions and additives. It provides the coating additional decorative effect of polished marble and protects against damage and moisture. The wax for Venetian plaster is intended for interior works only. 
Some craftsmen use two component varnish, but don’t forget about the advantages of wax for Venetian plaster:
•    Economy. The consumption of wax CERA LAVABILE is very little. After the stage of ironing, Venetian plaster becomes already glossy and smooth. So, you need not much wax to coat the whole surface.
•    Wax CERA LAVABILE emphasizes the depth of the pattern. It is vivid especially on the light coatings with dark streaks. Venetian plaster looks like a natural stone after applying the wax. If you apply varnish, the surfaces doesn’t achieve such an effect. 
•    Smooth glossy surface. The wax for Venetian plaster STUCCO VENEZIANO is applied with a trowel by pushing the product into the surface and as a result, you achieve a smooth glossy texture without roughness. And after polishing the surface of CERA LAVABILE easy to achieve a specular effect. The varnish is applied with a roller or a brush and achieving a smooth specular effect is impossible unlike with the wax. 
•    Wax CERA LAVABILE protects against humidity and contaminations.
•    Wax CERA LAVABILE doesn’t cause yellowing of the coating.
•    Wax CERA LAVABILE allows increasing the life period of the coating.

Wax CERA LAVABILE must be applied after the complete drying of Venetian plaster STUCCO VENEZIANO (24 hours after applying). If you plan to create a mirror effect, polish the surface of Venetian plaster with fine-grained sandpaper (500-1000) and smooth it with a spatula or a trowel.
If the coating remains without a protective layer for a while, you should remove dust with a sponge or a vacuum cleaner. The main thing is to provide maximum effective removal of contaminations.
Wax for a Venetian plaster CERA LAVABILE is a ready-to-use product and it is enough to stir with a metal spatula before application.
It is prohibited to mix wax CERA LAVABILE with waxes of other brands. 
It is recommended to apply wax CERA LAVABILE with a Venetian trowel or a steel spatula. Start work with a small area on the left top corner and move slowly along the surface to the right bottom corner. Parts of the surface coated with wax CERAL LAVABILE become a little darker as the wax penetrates into the coating.
You shall apply CERA LAVABILE without pauses to avoid visual seams. Apply the wax with a thin coating, working to the wet edge.
Do not wait till the wax gets dry and smooth the surface with with a spatula making quick multi-directed but accurate movements.
Each wall shall be completed without pauses. It guarantees a homogeneous and even surface.
After the wax becomes dry completely (after 12 hours), you can start polishing it. CERA LAVABILE can be polished to the mirror effect. The polishing is made with a spatula or a mitten, and to create a mirror effect you will need a polisher with a soft pod (a felt pad). This very procedure is the most important at the finishing stage. The main thing is not to stop at one place as the surface could be overheated and become matt. If you see that some area is not polished enough it is better to come back to it a little later.
